@Justin: At the very least I'm glad this provided some insight! Thanks for sticking around and reading!

@Jim: It certainly has been a long time! Oct 22 sounds good! I'll get the flights set and a car reserved. Looking forward to it...see you all next month!

@ed: Thanks for your comments. It's certainly encouraging to see customers like yourself enjoying the products we put out. Thank you for sticking along for the ride!

@mateus: Thanks also for your comments! I actually disagree with your assessment over Chip's writing. Having read the small excerpt I posted here, and his overall tone over a culmination of other postings it's quite evident that Chip wants quicker output. Your suggestion to Chip's meaning is that he understood where X-Aviation stands, but I truly believe the reality is that Chip wouldn't have said anything had he truly understood us. We're always looking for new talent. The difference is we're not looking to take on anyone and everyone as outlined above.

The posting was not made to slam chip. It was to provide insight as to why we were not doing what he wants or assumes we should do; what everyone else like him assumes we should be doing. I do not fault him for that, and up till now, I don't think Chip was far off of what others may have assumed as well.

Thanks again for sharing your thoughts!

Nobody disagrees with Chip on the benefits of the suggestion; however, Chip made assumptions as to x-aviation's goals, business state and abilities of which Chip has no knowledge.

As Cam pointed out, we don't all have the same views about what we want...and that is perfectly OK. I think Cam's blog clearly lets fellow simmers know exactly what it stands for and simmers can choose what works for them. A "right or wrong" business model is fully dependent on the goals of the business. Though I don't have a direct stake in x-aviation, I can say our goals are the same...and our goals are simply a higher quality hobby experience which is, of course, for each of us to decide for ourselves. For those who appreciate the way we do things, I'd simply say, "spread the word" so others who might be looking for us find us. We can be hard to see in the shadow of the org....and we're not content to sit still either, there is much more to do.

Indeed, the customer service is truly spot on at x-a. I never doubted that the excellent customer service was your backboard, and I think Chip just meant that hiring more people (if you could find them, that is) would benefit you, and us, in quality products, but also with the standout service that you offer.

Cameron,
Thank you very much for the insight!
Your statement of "X-Aviation is taking to quality over quantity" is spot on and your customer service is the best!
Your developers, products and customer service have made my flight sim experience the best it can be. Looking forward to the upcoming new year with a ton of new "goodies" to enjoy!
Keep up the great work, this customer appreciates it!
